What is a mutual fund?

A mutual fund is an investment company that pools the money of many individual investors, which can give your money much more power than it would have on its own.

Experienced professionals, who buy and sell a diversified, or well-mixed, number of stocks, bonds, or money market securities for the fund, manage this money.
